Summer Fun Kickoff: June 21st, 2022 – 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. (all ages & families) Today’s camp is going to kick off all of the summer fun we have planned! Campers will participate in fun icebreaker activities, learn camp cheers & songs, and participate in team building activities. Youth will also have the opportunity to participate in traditional camp games such as ladder ball, corn hole, horse shoe, hacky sack races and more!

Weekly Wednesday Read-in: June 22nd, 2022, 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. (Ages 5–18)

Hero’s Week! Campers of all ages are invited to dress up as their favorite hero and join us for a fun afternoon of stories and heroic activities!

Cupcake Decorating: June 23rd, 2022, 9 a.m. – 12 noon. (Ages 5–18)

Calling all clover bud 4-H’ers! Campers will get to learn about the tools needed for baking cupcakes and will get to decorate their very own cupcakes!

Down on the Farm: June 28th, 2022, 9 a.m. –12 noon (Ages 5–12)

Campers will have a fun-filled morning at the Bob Marting Ag Center. Campers will learn about agriculture with Marketing Supervisor Susan Tyre! Drop off and pick up will be at the Bob Martin Center.

Weekly Wednesday Read-in: June 29th, 2022, 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. (Ages 5–18)

Campers are invite to come dressed as what they want to be when they grow up! Campers will hear fun stories and learn about some of the community helpers they can grow up to be with hands-on activities and a few special guests!

Cooking up Cupcakes and Cookies: June 30th, 2022, 9 a.m. – 12 noon (Ages 9–12)

Campers will get to transform into bakers in training for the day. We will explore how to use kitchen tools to help us get our recipes just right. Campers will get to become the baker from start to finish as we bake and decorate cookies and cupcakes.

Diggin in the Dirt July 6th, 2022, 9 a.m. – 12 noon (Ages 5–12)

Time to see who has a 4-h green thumb! Campers will participate in a hands-on activity to learn all about the soil triangle, and discover what elements are the best to support growth of certain plants and flowers. Campers will get to test out their green thumbs and plant their own flowers to take home!

Weekly Wednesday Read-in: July 6th, 2022, 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. (ages 5–18)

Aye Matey, arrgh you a pirate? Campers are encouraged to come dressed as a pirate for this fun-filled afternoon! Crewmates will participate in read alouds and activities to help Captain Dickerson find ye treasure!

How Do I……? July 7th, 2022, 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. (Ages 14–18)

This one is for all of our senior 4-H campers! Today campers will learn about balancing a checkbook, how to draft a resume, how to be successful in an interview, and how to find opportunities available to them in the future! Lunch will be provided for participants. Cost $5.00.

Electric Camp: July 12th, 2022, 9 a.m. – 12 noon (Ages 5–12)

Ever wondered how electricity works? Time to find out! Campers will learn the ins and outs of electricity, and they will put their knowledge to use! Campers will have the opportunity to create their own LED Science Bugs, and create and race their very own Solar Cars! Cost $10.00.

3..2..1.. Join us as we blast into space! Our astronauts are going to learn all about the solar system through read-alouds and hands-on activities!

Put a Spark in It. Electric Camp!: July 14th, 2022, 9 a.m. – 12 noon (Ages 13–18)

Calling all high school students! You may already know the basics about electricity, but what next? Today Campers will learn about series circuits and will design and build their own series circuit flashlight, and their own electrical toy!

NC 4-H Congress: July 16–19th, 2022 (Ages 13-18)

Join 4-H’ers from across the state for an event packed with workshops, tours, dances, recognition, community service, fellowship, and more in Raleigh, NC! Cost TBD.

Painting Party: July 19th, 2022, 9 a.m. – 12noon (Ages 5–12)

Calling all artists! Students will get to express their creative side with bubble painting, and create their own clay-leaf bowl!Cost $5.00

Creative Campers!!: July 19th, 2022, 1 p.m. – 3 p.m. (Ages 13–18)

Calling all high school students! Pottery Painting! Students will be allowed to choose which pottery item they would like to paint. This pottery will be taken to Painted Peacock and fired for you! You will be notified when you pottery is ready to be picked up! Cost $10.00

Weekly Wednesday Read-in: July 20th, 2022, 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. (Ages 5–18)

Happy Disney Day! Campers are invited to come as their favorite Disney character as we read stories that transport us into the Most Magical Place on earth as we learn more about Walt Disney and his inspiration behind Disney World!

Emergency Preparedness 101 July 21st, 2022, 9 a.m/ – 12 noon (Ages 5–12)

Today we will be looking at what to do in case of an emergency and how we can prepare ourselves ahead of time! Students will also learn what items should be included in household emergency kits!

Healthy Living 101: July 26th, 2022, 9 a.m. – 12noon (Ages 5–12)

In today’s camp campers are going to be diving into what it means to have a healthy lifestyle, and learning new activities to promote a healthy lifestyle. Campers will also have the opportunity to partake in traditional 4-H pizza bagels.

Weekly Wednesday Read-in: July 27th, 2022, 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. (Ages 5–18)

Diving into the deep blue sea! This week we will be exploring life in the ocean with fun read-alouds and engaging hands on activities!

What Cooking?: July 28th, 2022, 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. (Ages 13–18)

Chefs in training! Our campers are going to learn the importance of healthy living and what we should include on our plates during meals. Campers will be able to create their own healthy dish in the kitchen! Cost $5.00

Scales, Skins and No Fins Science Discovery: August 9th, 2022, 10:30 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. (Ages 5–12)

Morehead City Aquarium will be joining us for the day with a presentation of scales, skins and no fins! Campers will have the opportunity to have an up close encounter with local reptiles that can be found in our own backyards! Cost $10.00, lunch provided

Squid Squish! August 9th, 2022 , 10:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. (Ages 13–18)

Campers will explore animal science with animal discovery! Campers will further their exploration with Morehead City Aquarium’s presentation of Squid, Squish! What do squid and octopus have in common? Find out while exploring the amazing world of mollusks! Participants will examine the anatomy and adaptations of these cephalopods through scientific investigation and a squid dissection. Cost $10.00, Lunch provided

Weekly Wednesday Read-in: August 10th, 2022. 2p.m. – 4p.m. (Ages 5–18)

One last summer fun! Join us for our last weekly read-in of the summer! We will enjoy classic summer fun read-alouds and indulge in popsicles!

Closing Campfire: August 11th, 2022, 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. (All ages & families)

All participants including read-in guests are encouraged to join us as we close out our summer adventures with a closing campfire. Participants will receive participation awards, and be recognized for their involvement in the organization. Summer teen helpers will receive a thank you gift, and recognition for the volunteer efforts for the summer. As we close out camp, more kits will be handed out to the participants.
