Show Information

  • Date: Thursday, March 21, 2024
  • Location: Coastal Carolina Gin in Terra Ceia – 4851 Terra Ceia Rd. Pantego, NC
  • Day of Schedule:
    • 9:30-10:30 a.m. – Animal Weigh In
    • 11:00  a.m. – Welcome & Pledges  -> Costume Class  -> Hog Classes  -> Lamb Classes  -> Goat Classes  -> Rookie Class
    • 4:30 p.m. – Awards Ceremony
    • 5:00 p.m. – Dinner
    • 6:30 p.m. – Auction

Where Can I Find Show Animals?

Requirements

  • Youth are required to be registered by January 1, 2024.
  • Parents of youth that this is their first or second year showing are required to attend one parent information meeting at N.C. Cooperative Extension, Beaufort County Center.
    • Saturday, January 6, 2024 at 9:00 a.m.
    • Monday, January 15, 2024 at 9:00 a.m.
    • Tuesday, January 16, 2024 at 5:30 p.m.
  • Youth that have shown less than 4 years in competitive classes (Jr. & Sr.) are required to attend an animal care/showmanship clinic.
  • Approved Care & Showmanship Clinics:
    • County Care Clinic: Monday, January 15, 2024 – Hogs 10:00-10:30 a.m. – Goats & Lambs – 10:30-11:00 a.m. at N.C. Cooperative Extension, Beaufort County Center
    • County Showmanship Clinic: Saturday, March 9, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at N.C. Cooperative Extension, Beaufort County Center
    • Club Care & Showmanship Clinics
      • Bath Creek 4-H Club – February 3, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at Bath Creek Stables (Lambs & Goats Only)
      • Boots & Bounty 4-H Club – February 18, 2024 from 2:00-4:00 p.m.
      • Terra Ceia Christian School – January 20, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at Terra Ceia Christian School (Lambs & Goats Only)
    • NC 4-H Livestock School: February 17 9:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m. at Lenoir County Livestock Arena. Cost: $20 for youth and $10 for adults
    • Driven Livestock Sheep & Goat Camp February 17 9:30 a.m. -4:30 p.m. Cost: $100 Register Through Google Forms
  • Youth must be enrolled and approved in 4-HOnline for the 2024 program year. For more information about 4-HOnline, please visit Basics of 4-HOnline.
  • Youth have to fill out a required Animal Book and return it to the the Cooperative Extension Office by May 10, 2024.
